A Night Out & A Great Cause
Wildwoods is hosting our first ever Wine & Whiskey for Whiskers event and we would love to see you there! Sample wine, whiskey and enjoy hors d'oeuvres to support wildlife in need of compassion and care. Plus:
- Sommelier April Amys of Small Lot MN will be on hand to answer all your wine related questions
- Explore the train cars and engines in the Lake Superior Railroad Museum
- Enter a raffle for the chance to win a diamond ring worth $4,500
All proceeds from this event will be used by Wildwoods to further our mission to cultivate compassion and respect for wildlife in our community, and to rehabilitate and release sick, injured and orphaned wildlife.
The Trains
Explore diesel, electric and steam locomotives like the William Crooks, the first to run in MN. Plus passenger cars, cabooses, and freight and service equipment like the enormous steam-powered rotary snowplow built in 1887.
A Special Raffle
Elizabeth Hooper, in memory of her mother Joyce C. Hooper, generously donated a diamond ring, designed by Security Jewelers, and appraised at $4,500. We'll be raffling the ring for $20 per ticket, and all funds raised will be used to help us build a new enclosure for the sick and injured foxes admitted every year to Wildwoods.
*Raffle tickets can be purchased at Wildwoods (4009 W Arrowhead Rd, Duluth MN) and Wild Birds Unlimited (5115 Burning Tree Rd, Duluth MN) before the event, or at the event. You need not be present to win, but winners must be 18 or older and able to pick up the ring from Wildwoods with valid ID. Sorry, we are unable to accept credit card payments for raffle tickets and we cannot ship the ring.
Music
Yukina Ono will be providing the entertainment for the evening. She began violin lessons at age 6 and is a member of several orchestras, including the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra. You won't want to miss her beautiful music! Get tickets today for a night out and a great cause.
Our patients need your help
As our community becomes more aware of our presence, and realizes they now have a place to go when they find an animal in need, the number of patients we admit steadily increases.
Already this year we have nearly surpassed the number of animals brought to Wildwoods last year. More orphans means more formula, more fledgling birds means more seeds and worms, more injured animals means more medications. All of this adds up to a lot more expenses.
We need your help to give hope to animals who otherwise would have none.
These two young foxes, now completely recovered from severe cases of mange, would have suffered and died if compassionate people like you hadn't stepped up to make sure they had all the medications and food they needed to heal.
This event is a great way to help the 1,500+ sick, broken, and orphaned animals brought to Wildwoods each year. Simply by attending and having a great time, you'll buy the food and medicine we need to give these beautiful creatures a second chance at a full life.
So don't wait! Get your tickets today and help Wildwoods continue our mission to promote understanding, appreciation, and well being of wildlife and the world we share through compassion, care, and community involvement.
